আষাঢ় মাসে শুক্ল পক্ষের দ্বিতীয় তিথিতে এই Rath Yatra উৎসব পালিত হয়। হিন্দু ধর্মের এক অন্যতম উৎসব। পুরীর রথযাত্রা নিয়ে রয়েছে এক সুদীর্ঘ ইতিহাস আছে। উড়িষ্যা ও পশ্চিমবঙ্গে এই উৎসব বিশেষ ভাবে পালিত হয়। রথ কথার আভিধানিক অর্থ যুদ্ধ যান বা যেকোনো ধরনের যানবাহন। কিন্তু হিন্দু ধর্মালম্বীদের কাছে রথ কথার অর্থ কাঠের তৈরি একধরনের যানবাহন যাতে করে ভগবান অর্থাৎ ঈশ্বর এক স্থান থেকে অন্য স্থানে যাতায়াত করেনI
এইবছর অর্থাৎ 2023 রথযাত্রা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে – 20th June, Tuesday
